Walmart urgent recall over dangerous items you must dispose now

Walmart is recalling two items this week, warning customers to “dispose of them immediately” after reports of overheating, catching fire, and causing serious burn injuries

Walmart has issued an urgent recall for two of their products this week, instructing shoppers to immediately get rid of them.

In a statement posted on Walmart’s official webpage, the company declares, “Walmart and Sam’s Club are committed to the health and safety of our customers and members and to providing products that are safe and compliant, all supported by our health and wellness, product safety, and food safety professionals.”

Walmart detailed their proactive approach to recalls, stating, “In the event of a product recall, we work swiftly to block the item from being sold and remove it from our stores and clubs.”

The most recent recall involves MaxKare Electric Blankets, flagged by the Consumer Product Safety Commission after being linked to incidents of overheating, catching fire, and causing serious burns.

Available exclusively online via Walmart.com between June 2021 and November 2024, these MaxKare blankets ranged in price from $27 to $80. Now, Walmart is urging those who may have purchased one to immediately dispose of the blanket, reports the Irish Star.

According to reports by Newsweek, the models involved are HB18A-7284-1, HB18A-8490-2, and HB18A-6284-1, coming in twin, full, queen sizes and offered in colors brown and gray.

This recall comes on the heels of another concerning Walmart item that is suspected to be at the center of a listeria outbreak.

The FSIS has advised a recall for FreshRealm’s Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo, adding to Walmart’s series of safety concerns.

A ready-to-eat meal featuring pasta, grilled white meat chicken, and parmesan cheese has been pulled from store shelves following numerous reports of illness linked to the product. The USFDA is advising consumers to either dispose of the product or return it to the point of purchase.

In other news, Walmart revealed a fresh collaboration with Mastercard this week, signaling the comeback of their store credit card that offers cash-back rewards for dedicated shoppers.
