Walmart recalls: Chicken sausage with plastic pieces, shoe accessories that can catch on fire
This week’s recalls and consumer warnings at America’s largest retailer include chainsaws with an off switch that doesn’t work and incorrectly labeled Ritz cracker sandwiches.
With thousands of products on shelves and available online, Walmart serves millions of Americans; 90% of the U.S. population lives within 10 miles of a Walmart store. When a product it sells is recalled, there can be widespread effects.
Labeling mistakes, safety concerns, defects and contamination can all cause recalls on food, prescriptions and other products.
“Walmart and Sam’s Club are committed to the health and safety of our customers and members and to providing products that are safe and compliant, all supported by our health and wellness, product safety, and food safety professionals,” the company said in a statement. “In the event of a product recall, we work swiftly to block the item from being sold and remove it from our stores and clubs.”

Food recalls
Kayem Foods Inc. recalls Ready-To-Eat Chicken Sausage products due to possible contamination with plastic pieces – This recall includes 24,173 pounds of ready-to-eat chicken sausage that may be contaminated with pieces of plastic. The product was sold at Walmart stores in Alabama, Connecticut, Washington D.C., Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Vermont, West Virginia and Puerto Rico.

Danone US LLC voluntarily recalls YoCrunch brand yogurt with topper for possible contamination with plastic pieces – Plastic pieces were found in the toppers. The product was sold at Walmart stores nationwide.

Mondelēz Global LLC voluntarily recalls RITZ Peanut Butter Cracker Sandwiches, individual wrappers mislabeled as cheese variety – This recall includes select carton sizes of RITZ Peanut Butter Cracker Sandwiches. While the boxes are labeled correctly as containing peanut butter, some of the individual packages inside the box may be incorrectly labeled as cheese crackers and missing the peanut allergy warning, posing an allergen risk. They were sold at Walmart stores nationwide.
Kraft Heinz Foods Company recalls 367,812 pounds of turkey bacon products – The recall includes fully cooked turkey bacon that could be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, a bacteria that can cause foodborne illness. The recall involves the Oscar Mayer brand bacon that was sold in various packaging sizes at select Walmart Stores and Sam’s Clubs. Affected states include Alaska, Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Washington D.C., Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, Missouri, Mississippi, Montana, North Carolina, North Dakota, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, Nevada, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin and West Virginia.

FreshRealm recalls chicken fettuccine alfredo products due to possible listeria contamination – The products may be contaminated with listeria. Multiple brands that were sold at Walmart stores in all 50 states and Puerto Rico are included in the recall. Seventeen people have become sick. Three deaths and one fetal loss have been reported.
