So, how do we learn about active recalls and the information associated with them? Who is responsible for regulating this?
We learn about active recalls and related safety information through the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the government agency responsible for protecting the public from dangerous consumer products. The CPSC handles recalls, enforces safety standards, researches product hazards, and educates both consumers and manufacturers to reduce the risk of injuries.

Anker is offering a free replacement, but users must submit a photo of the device with markings and properly dispose of it through a hazardous waste facility, not in regular trash or recycling.
