Multiple supermarket food products have been unexpectedly pulled from shelves across across the country, and ‘do not eat’ warnings have been issued.
The likes of Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Asda have all had products recalled, with issues including possible contamination with metal, and incorrect allergy information and use by dates.

Lidl recalled a number of Alesto Raw Fruit & Nut Bars because they may be unsafe to eat due to the possible presence of plastic. Flavours include Cocoa & Orange, Blueberry Muffin, Salted Caramel and Berry. Anyone who has bought the items is being urged not to consume them but to return them to a Lidl store where a full refund will be given.

Lidl says in its warning notice: “Lidl GB is recalling the above-mentioned product due to due to potential presence of plastic foreign bodies which may present a choking hazard. If you have bought the above product we advise you not to eat it.
“Customers are asked to return this product to the nearest store where a full refund will be given. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your cooperation. No other Alesto products in Lidl GB stores are affected by this recall.” Here’s the full story
Asda George children’s clothing
Asda has recalled George Stitch and Angel 2 piece sets (all sizes) and George Baby 3PK Zip Rompers (all sizes up to 24 months) as they pose a risk of injury. Shoppers who have bought the items are being urged to take them back to their nearest Asda store, where a refund will be provided.
The light blue George Stitch and Angel 2 piece sets have been recalled as the drawstring cord in the shorts is too long and a child could become tangled or trapped in the cord. Meanwhile, the packs of three pink and cream baby rompers have been recalled as some of the zips may contain sharp edges and this may lead to babies becoming scratched and injured. Paracetamol 500mg Tablets
The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has said that Chelonia Healthcare Limited, the manufacturer, is recalling specific batches of Paracetamol 500mg Tablets (100 pots) as a precautionary measure. The recall is reportedly “due to contamination following a small number of complaints of discoloured tablets within the pots.” Here’s the full story.

Harvest Basket Hash Browns

Lidl is recalling batches of Harvest Basket Hash Browns and customers are being urged not to eat the product as they may contain pieces of metal. The recall applies to 750g pack size Harvest Basket Hash Browns with a specific batch code and Best Before date.

Pieminister products
Pieminister, which is sold in several of the major supermarkets, has confirmed that some of its pies have an incorrect use by date on their packaging.
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has issued a product recall alert for 10 Pieminister products over the error. The affected pies have mistakenly been labelled with a use by date of June 24, 2026, instead of the correct date of June 24, 2025, after which they are “not safe to eat”, the agency advised.
Pieminister is sold in Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons and Waitrose stores, according to the brand’s website, as well as Marks and Spencer’s online food order website Ocado. Anyone who has bought the affected pies is advised to contact Pieminister customer services by phone on 0117 942 3300 or via email at hello@pieminister.co.uk to receive a full refund. Laoganma Black Bean Chilli Sauce
Laoganma Black Bean Chilli Sauce, which is available at Sainsbury’s within the world foods section, has been recalled due to the presence of undeclared peanuts.
The specific batch affected is 280g in size, with the batch code 18232 and an expiration date of March 8, 2026. This product could be hazardous for individuals with a peanut allergy, as symptoms can range from skin reactions to nausea and vomiting, and in extreme cases, potentially fatal anaphylaxis.
