Aldi, Sainsbury’s and Amazon issue ‘do not eat’ warnings as products recalled

If there is a problem with a food product that means it should not be sold the Food Standards Agency will issue an alert

Here are the latest product recalls(Image: PA)

Products are often pulled off shelves if they pose a risk to public health. This week, products from Amazon, Sainsbury’s and Aldi have been recalled. The Food Standards Agency posts alerts to keep people informed about potential recalls and advises what to do if you have purchased an affected product.

If there is a problem with a food product that means it should not be sold, then it might be taken off the shelves. The FSA issues Product Recall Information Notices to let consumers and local authorities know about problems associated with food. In some cases, a ‘Food Alert for Action’ is issued. This provides local authorities with details of specific action to be taken on behalf of consumers.

Shoppers who are in possession of a product impacted by a recall are often urged to return to the store for a full refund and told, “Do not consume” the product. The latest product recalls are below:

Aldi

Aldi is recalling Inspired Cuisine Baby Potatoes with Herbs and Butter because it contains milk which is not mentioned on the label. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents.
