5 products for children recalled on Amazon during Prime Day flash sale

A number of children’s products, such as play yard mattresses, dressers, crib bumpers, and safety gates, were recalled nationally by Amazon and a number of third-party merchants.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the goods, which are only available for purchase online at Amazon.com, present risks of asphyxia, entrapment, and tip-over injuries. In addition to offering refunds for products that are destroyed and photographed, each recall notification advised customers to cease using the impacted products right away.

The recalled products have not been linked to any injuries. Today is the last day for the Amazon Prime Day sale, as the retail giant has slashed prices on thousands of products. It comes after Costco recalled 12 items shoppers could be using right now.

When testing reveals that goods are tainted with potentially fatal germs or have been infected with a foreign object during the production process, for example, recalls are issued to address concerns that a product is flawed or possibly hazardous in some other way.

The recall of several products aimed at children emphasizes the ongoing dangers of uncontrolled or illegal imports offered for sale by unaffiliated sellers on well-known internet marketplaces. Newsweek reports these most recent recalls highlight the significance of regulatory supervision and Amazon’s marketplace duty by showing that products that violate federal standards are still accessible to American consumers.

Dearlomum Retractable Safety Gates

Approximately 2,200 Dearlomum Retractable Safety Gates were recalled after being offered for $33 to $38 on Amazon from December 2024 to May. The Signbaby-distributed gates run the risk of injuring or killing a kid by trapping their torso between the gate and the floor.

Federal laws pertaining to the safety of children’s gates are broken by the product. Customers must cut and destroy the gate and provide Signbaby with the necessary paperwork in order to get a complete refund.

AUGNORYE Padded Crib Bumpers

On July 10, YIXIA issued a recall for approximately 356 AUGNORYE Padded Cushioned Crib Bumpers. Amazon sold these items for $40 to $45 between February and May.

By posing a suffocation risk and potentially creating an unhealthy sleeping environment for newborns, the CPSC determined that the soft bumpers were in violation of the federal ban on padded crib bumpers. Customers who cut and document product destruction are eligible for refunds.

Braided Crib Bumpers by Haoyunm

The same federal ban that applied to the AUGNORYE product was broken by about 260 braided baby bumpers that Haoyunm imported. The unmarked bumpers, which are suffocation hazards, were offered for sale on Amazon from December 2024 to April in a variety of colors and lengths.

To get a refund, customers must cut the merchandise in half and present proof.

WLIVE Fabric Dressers

About 6,600 WLIVE Fabric 15-Drawer Dressers, which retailed for roughly $110 each on Amazon between April 2024 and May 2025, were recalled by Jiangsu Zhi Pai Furniture Manufacturing Co. Ltd.

According to the CPSC, the device violates the federal STURDY Act standard for garment storage units because it is unstable and presents a risk of tipping over and being trapped unless it is secured to a wall. Following the submission of disposal documents by consumers, refunds are processed.

Creekliybear Play Yard Mattresses

About 21,500 Creekliybear aftermarket play yard mattresses were recalled by Kbabyea. These items, which range in price from $28 to $40 on Amazon between December 2024 and June, are thicker than what the federal government requires.

According to the CPSC, they might not fit into typical play yards, which could result in a deadly entrapment hazard. For individuals who can provide evidence of mattress destruction, refunds are processed.
